Bag filters are used for the clarification/filtration of fluids with a low particle content to be eliminated. The particle suspension flows through and settles in the bag. Filtration happens from inside to outside at a rate. As a result, bag filters are typically employed in conjunction with a supporting vessel. When no support is employed, the pressure drops over the filter must be reduced. When bag filters are utilized, industry norms often determine the size of the bag house. The supporting vessel offers mechanical support for high-throughput filters and avoids filter material elongation. Bag filters are depth filters that are often built from needle-punched nonwovens.
